We predict this super-easy, beautiful Tidal Wave® Purple Petunia plant will be the spreading petunia of choice for gardeners looking for something a little distinctive in the garden. And then there's its "traditional" use as a trailing petunia in baskets, planters, and other containers. Widely spaced in bed or border, Tidal Wave® Purple Petunia creeps along as a lovely ground cover. Set against a trellis and given a little help to get started, it forms a floriferous climber. Spaced closely together, the plants form an upright mound or even a low hedge, drenched with blooms and utterly charming. Tidal wave series will spread 2.5 to 5 ft. When given plenty of space, these petunias make a floriferous groundcover. Grown in a restricted space with support, they will grow an extra 2 to 3 ft. (30 cm) apart, plants form a dense, mounded hedge. The growth habit is based on how closely the plants are spaced in the garden – the closer the spacing, the taller the plants. Tidal Wave - The largest of the Wave petunia family, Tidal Wave varieties create a very full, shrub like plant that is ideal for landscapes and large containers. Shockwave series will spread 2.5 to 3 ft.
